Happy Labor Day!

I hope you enjoy any time off you may have!
I'm going to keep this post short and sweet,

The dimensions were 36"x48"

I'm pretty excited about it!

Trip to Tipp: A Day in Pictures

What better way to begin to celebrate Labor Day weekend
than a trip to your favorite patriotic little town?

Of course I'm talking about the beautiful historic district of
Tipp City, Ohio!

It's always fun to explore the many shops, cafés, and restaurants quaint little towns like this have to offer. I could spend a whole day taking pictures of all the interesting things I find.

 Grounds for Pleasure Coffeehouse

Two words: Mocha Frappa.
Mmm!

 Living Simply Soap

Living Simply Soap is one of Tipp City's newer shops. They have some really great products (their bubble bath is amazing!) and a really diverse collection of scents. There is something for everyone, and their products are made right in the store!

Eunice's Antiques

Eunice's Antiques on Main is located right next to Living Simply Soaps. If you are into the shabby-chic look, you should check them out!

Benkin Antique Gallery
I love these old circus signs I found at Benkin's. They just have this nostalgic eeriness about them.

Even the Streets of Tipp City have some of the most interesting finds!

Long Day and Dollar Finds

My day was...
how do I put this...
LONG!

You know how sometimes the to-do list just drags on forever?
Yeah, that was today! Ugh.

^
Let's just say that this was with me 100% of the time.

But Fear Not!
Amid the craziness of errand running I was able to scope out some pretty neat items at Target's dollar section to show you!

I bought this neat pocket calendar that I realized I desperately needed after I lost my phone (a.k.a. what I use to keep track of
:well:
Everything.)
I had no idea what I was doing or when.
[First world problems, I know.]

I am a firm believer that no one could ever have too many journals, I go through them like crazy! These ones are as cute as can be, and are only a dollar a piece. Perfect for random thoughts, inspirations (idea journals= majorly helpful), even recipes!

One of my under-rated favorite items:
Have you ever seen an accordion folder? Probably, yes. But I am going to tell you right now...
THESE FOLDERS ARE THE BEST!
I recently went on an organizational rampage, and I swear there is no better way to organize your paperwork, bills, and important documents than these folders.
They can be purchased at Target or Dollar Tree for $1 each, and you can get large or small sizes.
I have been using small ones like this for coupons and receipts, in order to more accurately track my spending.
Having a place to put the receipts right after you acquire them makes it a lot less likely that you will lose them amid a tangled mess of shopping bags as soon as you leave the store.

and last but not least, my favorite purchase

Horse Head Wine Stoppers!
I will admit, these weren't a dollar, they were $2.50 for the set. *gasp!* Give a girl a break! ;)
I am thinking of checking out my friend's antique shop tomorrow for some unique glass bottles to use them with!

Happy Thrifting,
Jenny

Beginnings and Goodwill Finds

This week marks a few new beginnings. For one, this is my first blog post....EVER! That, in my mind, is reason enough to celebrate. It's taken me quite a while to work up the motivation to start this blog, so I am glad to finally see it coming together.

The second "new beginning" is not actually [entirely] new, but still brings big changes. This past Monday marks the start of a new semester in college, and the end of what I would consider one of the best summers of my life. Let's just say...
A LOT
of things happened! 2 weddings, 3 room makeovers, a new place, VBS, and heatstroke, you name it and it probably happened this summer. Even though this summer was wonderful, I am ready to move on from suntans to schoolbooks.

When school is about to start, I like to treat myself to some new wardrobe items, so last week I made it over to goodwill and hunted down some pretty [and CHEAP] clothing that I'll be showing off for you here.

Dress + Leopard Cardigan: Goodwill Industries
Sandals: Target
Handbag: Apt 9 purchased at Kohl's
Owl Pin: Garage sale find

The dress and cardigan were my only two clothing purchases at Goodwill, but I wanted to share with you a few other neat finds that they are selling right now. (Keep in mind these are new items, not used so every Goodwill in the Dayton area would have them.)
First are these cute adorable strawberry hair clips. They come in a pack of four and cost around a dollar. I couldn't resist.
Second is this amazing, clear domed umbrella! I had been eyeing them on Modcloth for some time now, but was NOT  willing to spend $16 on, well, anything. After deciding against buying this online, I found an even cuter dome umbrella brand new at Goodwill for $5.49.
Tell me that isn't a steal!
